Booqings helps independent artisans manage bookings, availability, services, and customer relationships. This policy explains what personal information we process, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies when you use Booqings through our website, mobile application, booking pages, or related services. Booqings may process information as a service provider for an artisan or studio, and artisans may also have their own privacy responsibilities to their customers.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Booqings, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email address, sign-in details, business name, phone number, location, profile image, and service information.
- Booking information, such as a customer's name, email address, phone number, requested service, appointment time, notes, and booking status.
- Payment information, including payment references, amounts, payment status, and transfer-account details. Card and bank-transfer processing is handled by our payment providers; Booqings does not store full card details.
- Usage and device information, such as interactions with our services, approximate location inferred from technical data, browser or device type, IP address, and diagnostic logs.
- Communications, including messages sent to Booqings support or to an artisan through enabled Booqings channels.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to provide and improve Booqings, including to create and secure accounts, schedule and manage bookings, process and reconcile payments, send transactional messages, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and understand how our services perform.
4. When we share information
We share information only where needed to operate the service. This can include the artisan or studio connected to a booking, payment processors, communications and hosting providers, professional advisers, and authorities where required by law or necessary to protect people, rights, or property. We do not sell personal information.
5. Payments
Where a booking requires payment, relevant information is shared with our payment providers to create payment instructions, confirm a payment, manage refunds where available, and prevent fraud. Payment providers process this information under their own privacy notices and security practices.
6. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, including to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, or request a copy in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where our processing relies on consent. To make a request, contact us at privacy@booqings.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
8. International processing
Booqings and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When we do, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data-protection law.
9. Children
Booqings is not directed to children. Do not use Booqings or provide personal information to us if you are below the age required to enter into a binding agreement in your location without appropriate parental or guardian involvement.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
